mindfulness-based pain management
and strategies for living well
Breathworks Leeds is run by FWBO Leeds Buddhist Centre. We offer mindfulness based practices in a secular (non-faith) context to support people from all backgrounds living with pain and illness. living well with pain and illnessThis course offers a self-management mindfulness-based programme for anyone wanting to learn new strategies for living with chronic pain, fatigue or ill health. It introduces a multi-facetted approach to managing pain, illness and the stress that often arises as a result of these. It provides a tool kit of resources that we can apply to our lives. Mindfulness-based approaches to health and wellbbeing have been pioneered by Dr J. Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts. Mindfulness-based therapies are now recognised by health professionals in the UK and abroad. Breathworks has developed this approach based on experience of how meditation and mindfulness can benefit those living with pain and ill health.
