Longer Retreats
Leeds Buddhist Centre Retreats
Weekend Retreats are held in the peace and quiet of the local countryside in a warm and friendly environment, away from our usual routines. Sangha weekend retreats are a chance for all of us connected with FWBO Leeds Buddhist Centre to spend time together and practice as a community. They allow us to engage more fully in meditation and Buddhist Practice and include talks, discussion and ritual.
These retreats are open to those familiar with our meditation techniques.
Autumn weekend retreat 2008
Friday 14th - to Sunday 16th November
The weekend retreat this autumn is at Lineham Farm, near Eccup, about 9 miles from Leeds. This is a new venue for us, so if it helps to imagine yourself there, think green fields, an open fire, and spaciousness - room for 30 people including some rooms with full disabled access.
The retreat will focus on four related mediation practices, exploring metta, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity - the four 'divine abodes', also known as the four 'immeasurables', reaching all beings without limit. So on this weekend we will look at what it means to live from the heart, to be open, undefended, and free.
Suggested donations for the retreat are £70/£35
